Olympic Torch Comes to Annapolis Royal

Join Champlain in Annapolis Royal, and be a part of Olympic History!

On Your Mark…Get Set…Go! ~ to Fort Anne National Historic Site in scenic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. It is definitely the place to be on Thursday morning, November 19, 2009. This historic town has the honour of hosting a portion of the cross Canada Olympic Torch Relay, and Y-O-U are invited!

Join Champlain in Annapolis Royal, and be a part of Olympic history! The Official Ceremony begins at 9:45 a.m. at Fort Anne NHS.  The Torch Bearer is set to run at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Be sure to come early! A host of exciting pre-relay events begin at 9:00 a.m., and you won’t want to miss a minute of all of the fun and festivities. Enjoy unique entertainment, a walk around Fort Anne, the colourful procession, cake and hot chocolate, and even a pick-up ground hockey game in the Parade Square.

Being a part of an Olympic event is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Wear your favourite sport jersey, come in your heritage costume, or wear your Vancouver 2010 apparel. Don’t miss this chance to welcome the torchbearers, and send them off in true Annapolis Royal style.
