Join the Town of Annapolis Royal, one of Canada’s oldest permanent settlements, for a fun-filled celebration of Canada’s Birthday. You are invited to bring your Frisbee, ball and glove, kites and other family friendly games to the Fort Grounds.

Schedule of Events for July 1

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Farmers’ Market
Wednesday market kicks off this Canada Day. Be sure to stop by and pick up some local treats including fruits and veggies, and home made arts and crafts.

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Children’s Activities & Fun Stuff at the Historic Gardens
Children’s activities, music and fun in celebration of Canada Day. Kids are FREE all day, and for everyone else, a special Canada Day fee of $6.

10:00 a.m. Gardens Family GPS Quest at the Historic Gardens
Explore the Historic Gardens as a family using GPS units (provided) to make new discoveries and solve a puzzle. Pre-register 532-7018. Kids are FREE all day, and for everyone else, a special Canada Day fee of $6

11:00 a.m. Official Celebration at Town Hall
Join the Mayor of Annapolis Royal and the Town Crier as we officially celebrate Canada Day with the raising of the flag and the singing of O’ Canada

11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Clown on the Fort Grounds
Have fun with face painting and balloons.

12:00 p.m. BBQ Hotdogs at Fort Anne
Free, first come first serve.

12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. The Great Annapolis Royal Picnic at Fort Anne
Bring your blanket and picnic basket and spend the day with us.

1:00 p.m. HUGE Birthday Cake Cutting at Fort Anne
Everyone will enjoy a piece of the HUGE birthday cake to celebrate the day.

1:00 p.m.. Family Activities at Fort Anne
Lots of great games and music for the whole family.

1:00 p.m. Horseshoes at the Annapolis Royal Legion

2:00 p.m. BINGO at the Annapolis Royal Legion
Door open at 1:30 p.m. Cash and meat prizes

2:00 p.m. National Historic District Tour
Celebrate Canada’s birthday with a “Stroll Through the Centuries” in one of the oldest permanent settlements, and explore one of the country’s largest National Historic Districts. Sponsored by the Historical Association of Annapolis Royal. Meet at the Lighthouse, $7 adults, $3 youth, $1 children

2:30 p.m. Band Concert at the Historic Gardens
Enjoy the music of the Annapolis Basin Community Band while you take in the roses and other July highlights. Kids are FREE all day, and for everyone else, a special Canada Day fee of $6

5:00 p.m. Pig Roast, Granville Ferry Community Hall

9:30 p.m. Candlelight Graveyard Tour
Discover Canada’s oldest English graveyard by candlelight on this fun-filled, award-winning tour. Sponsored by the Historical Association of Annapolis Royal. Meet at Fort Anne, $7 adults, $3 youth, $1 children
