Magnolias at the Historic Gardens ~ Trish Fry

The Annapolis Royal Area of Nova Scotia, Canada has been welcoming visitors since 1605. The  Tourist Information Centre is now open at the Tidal Power Plant from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily. The first Farmers and Traders Market of the season is on tap for May 16, and the  Magnolia Festival is in full swing.

SATURDAY, MAY 16th

Famers’ and Trader’s Market
Lower St. George Street, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Come for the local produce, handmade crafts and homemade treats.

“A Wicked Lady’s Maid”
Historic Gardens, 2 p.m.
A one women monologue will be preformed in the Gardens using the natural landscape for a stage. A part of the 2009 Annapolis Royal Magnolia Celebration. Be sure to stop by the German Bakery Café for a taste of their inspired soup 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
 

“All About Wine”
Hillsdale House Inn, 7:30 p.m.
Experience the flavours of local wine provided by Bear River Vineyards in the comfort of an exquisite B&B. Space is limited, phone 532-2345 to reserve your spot. $12/person.

SUNDAY, May 17th

Self Guided Walking Tour brochures of the magnificent magnolias in Annapolis Royal may be picked up at the Visitor Information Centre or at the Historic Gardens. Catch them before they are gone!
